Shape the future of data in an international organization

Do you enjoy building scalable data platforms, designing robust data pipelines, and transforming complex business requirements into reliable data solutions?

At Daka and SARIA, we're strengthening our international data landscape and are looking for a Data Engineer who wants to play a key role in developing the data platform that supports business decisions across Europe.

Working with Azure Databricks, PySpark, SQL, and Power BI, you will help build the foundation for data-driven decision-making across multiple countries, business units, and operational sites. This is an opportunity to join a growing data organization where you can influence both technical solutions and future architecture while working with modern cloud technologies.

The Role

As our new Data Engineer, you will join the international Data Solutions team and become a key contributor to the development of our next-generation data platform.

You will work across multiple systems, countries, and business areas, ensuring reliable, scalable, and high-quality data flows that support analytics, reporting, and business operations.

This role combines data engineering, architecture, and business understanding. You'll collaborate closely with eight colleagues across Europe, with one colleague based in Hedensted. The BI-team works according to Scrum principles, with stand-ups twice a week to stay aligned, share progress, and address challenges. Just as importantly, you will join a team with an open feedback culture, where colleagues actively help and challenge each other with the shared ambition of making each other better.

The position reports to Mirco Grösch, Team Lead Business Intelligence, based in Germany.

Your primary workplace will be our headquarters in Hedensted, Denmark, where you will also be part of our local IT organization consisting of eight colleagues. While your daily home base is Denmark, your projects, stakeholders, and impact will span across Europe.

What You'll Be Working On

You will play a central role in both maintaining and further developing our data platform. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing scalable data solutions in Azure Databricks
  • Building, optimizing, and maintaining modern data pipelines
  • Integrating data from ERP systems, operational applications, APIs, databases and cloud platforms
  • Developing and maintaining semantic models in Power BI
  • Ensuring data quality, reliability, and accessibility across business-critical solutions
  • Supporting data architecture decisions and platform improvements
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Contributing to documentation, governance, and best practices across the data landscape

Your Technical Toolbox

We expect you to bring experience within several of the following areas:

  • Azure Databricks
  • PySpark
  • SQL
  • Data modelling and semantic layers
  • Power BI
  • APIs and system integrations
  • Cloud-based data platforms
  • Data architecture and platform design
  • ETL/ELT development
  • Data quality and governance

You don't need to tick every box, but we expect you to have strong experience within modern data engineering and a genuine interest in building scalable data solutions.

Who You Are

You are curious, analytical, and motivated by solving complex technical challenges. You take a proactive approach, ask questions, and are comfortable challenging the status quo when you see opportunities to improve the way we work.

You enjoy taking ownership and balancing deep technical work with collaboration across different parts of the business. Working in an international environment with multiple stakeholders energizes you, and you're comfortable communicating technical topics to both technical and non-technical colleagues.

You bring an open-minded, curious, and constructive approach to collaboration. As a senior member of the team, you are also passionate about sharing your knowledge and supporting the development of more junior colleagues.

Additionally, we imagine that you:

  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
  • Have several years of experience working with data engineering and data platforms
  • Communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken
  • Take a structured and quality-oriented approach to your work
  • Thrive in environments where you can influence solutions, challenge existing ways of working, and contribute to continuous improvement

Why Join Daka and SARIA?

This is not a maintenance role. You will join a business where data and digitalization are strategic priorities, and where there is a genuine ambition to strengthen the data platform across the entire organization.

In return, we offer:

  • A key position in an international organization with significant growth ambitions
  • Opportunity to influence architecture, tools, and future data platform development
  • Modern technologies and a cloud-first data environment
  • Collaboration with skilled colleagues across Denmark and Europe
  • A high degree of autonomy and responsibility
  • Excellent opportunities for professional and personal development
  • Flexible working arrangements, including the option to work from home up to two days a week
  • An attractive pension scheme with an 11% employer contribution
  • 23 weeks of fully paid parental leave
  • Lunch programme and attractive employment conditions

Beyond the professional opportunities, you'll become part of a collaborative and down-to-earth culture where people genuinely enjoy working together. From social events and staff association activities to an informal coffee break with colleagues, community is an important part of everyday life at our headquarters in Hedensted.
